This International Stone Sculpture Symposium will take place in a town of Turkey between the 20th May 2010 and 20 th June 2010.
A total of 10 artists will be participating in the symposium. The material to be used is marble. 3m3 block/ blocks of marble in total, cut in accordance to the artist’s dimension specifications.
In addition, materials needed for the mounting of the sculpture and the base –if specified in the application portfolio- will be provided by the Municipality. The symposium has no particular theme. The sculptures created in the frame of the symposium will remain in the possession of the Municipality. The transportation, accommodation and food expenses of the participating artists will be paid by the Municipality. Travel expenses for all artists will be covered as follows: economy class plane tickets and transfer from the airport. The artists will buy their own plane tickets and will be reimbursed the ticket sums on place. Accommodation (only in case of sharing the same room) and food will also be paid by the Municipality for the symposium participants’ companions (limited to one person). The companions will not be reimbursed for their travel costs, nor will they be paid for their labor, if any. To each artist who has completed his work in the given time and place will be given a total of 2500 € (2500 EURO) for equipment expenses and copyright. Participants will be taken to short trips to the nearest cities such as Istanbul and Edirne.
