Solo Exhibition CINEMA - Atlântica Gallery, Vilamoura

Francisco Urbano apresenta a nova série CINEMA na Galeria Atlântica, em Vilamoura, no dia 07/10/2010 e na Feria Internacional de Arte de Madrid, no dia 25/11/2010.

Sobre esta nova série o crítico de arte e pintor Ângelo Vaz disse:

“Se a riqueza está na criação do homem, Francisco Urbano é porta-estandarte nesta nova vaga de artistas.
Conhecendo eu o seu percurso, entendo que este novo ciclo lhe vai dar mais-valias artísticas.
Francisco Urbano, explorou intensamente as técnicas mistas com um neo-figurativismo durante anos.
Agora propõe-nos e dando continuidade às técnicas mistas o ciclo da Pop-Art, com a temática de CINEMA!
As figuras, os símbolos e as cores que o artista escolheu, poderei considerar que dentro da Pop-Art, há um purismo no figurativismo fotográfico colado.
Esconde símbolos que é património particular, mas faz parte deste estilo e encaixa-os perfeitamente no cenário da obra.
Consegue comunicar com a destruição de cartazes, folhetos, flyers e outros suportes gráficos e publicitários temáticos, aplicando-os e dando-lhes cores adequadas.
Soube dar profundidade e perspectiva aos trabalhos com as imagens desgastadas pelo tempo.
Artisticamente, é uma pura e honesta homenagem ao cinema.
Se Robert Rauschenberg fosse vivo, o mesmo ficaria contente por ter um colega e amigo como Francisco Urbano, pois o mesmo perante as dimensões das telas, soube aproveitar os espaços sem se perder.
Os criadores da fotografia e do cinema como neste caso particular, estão de parabéns porque mais um artista e português, perante sua capacidade artística, soube fazer um belo filme com cor e movimento.
Francisco Urbano, movimenta-se e emociona-se ao elaborar este novo ciclo.
O Cinema sendo uma temática vasta e complexa vai levar este artista ao topo do figurativismo gráfico/publicitário, com raízes urbanas.
Pop-Art com raízes Europeias (Inglaterra) e Norte Americanas (Estados Unidos), explodiu nos finais dos anos 50, no século XX, despertando a atenção da nova sociedade e Francisco Urbano, está a eclodir uma nova versão com materiais que sabe manusear, retirando daí resultados extraordinários.
Gessos, colas, acrílicos, resinas e outros materiais, trabalhados com os diversos suportes sobre tela dá resultados nunca vistos, o que este artista consegue com maturidade e tecnicismo nas suas obras.”

Francisco presents a new serie of works CINEMA in the Atlântica Gallery, Vilamoura, on the next 07/10/2010 and in the FAIM International Art Fair of Madrid in 25/11/2010.

About this new serie the Art Critic and Painter Angelo Vaz said:

"If the wealth is in the creation of man, Francisco Urbano is a flagship in this new wave of artists.

Knowing him route like I know, I think that this new cycle will give him artistic gains.

Francisco Urbano explored intensively the techniques mixed with a neo-figurative art for years.

Now offers us and continuing with the mixed techniques the cycle of Pop Art, with the theme CINEMA!

The figures, symbols and colors that the artist chose, I might consider that within the Pop-Art, there is a purism in the figurative photographic glued.
