Carmichael Gallery is proud to announce its three year anniversary this fall. To celebrate, the gallery will open Brit Paint, a group exhibition featuring Will Barras, Simon Birch, Guy Denning, Ian Francis, Tobias Keene and Antony Micallef. Linked by their country of origin, technical expertise and manipulation of oil and acrylics to convey a potent range of emotions, these six contemporary painters are fast becoming acknowledged as leaders of a new movement in British portraiture and figurative art. Original works on canvas and paper will be on display in the gallery’s rooms. Limited edition prints will also be available upon request.
The evening will also feature the launch of vol ii, issue ii of tasj, Seth and Elisa Carmichael’s independent art magazine. This edition marks part 1 of the tasj Backstage Series and features comprehensive interviews with art world personalities Mark Jenkins, Rae McGrath, Angelo Milano, Martyn Reed, Jacob Samuel, Marc and Sara Schiller, Stefan Simchowitz and Sonja Teri. Copies of the magazine will be available for guests to take home with them on the night.
There will be an opening reception for the exhibition and magazine launch on Saturday, September 18 from 6 to 8pm. The exhibition will run through October 16, 2010.
