"Images Inspired by Great Authors of the Western World" - MD
Deadline: May 1, 2010. An art exhibit scheduled for Summer 2010 entitled "Images Inspired by Great Authors of the Western World" is seeking submissions from 2 dimensional visual artists in the greater Maryland/Washington/Pennsylvania/Virginia area. The guidelines are as follows: 1. The phrase "Great Authors of the Western World" is, of course, a limited paradigm of thinking and subject to interpretation. For the sake of this exhibition, we generally refer to authors from the reading list found at http://www.stjohnscollege.edu/academic/ANreadlist.shtml, or included in the "Great Books" anthology series found in most libraries. This exhibit does not pretend to cover all great thinkers of the world. It is an exhibit however with clear limits. Authors outside these two sources will be considered by the Curator, if there is substantial reason to do so in his opinion. 2. There is a 5 dollar submission fee only for 1 - 3 images of 2 dimensional art. Additionally, for artists whose works are selected, it will be their sole responsibility and expense incurred for getting the work to the exhibit space, ready to hang, and picking it up if not sold or having it shipped back to them. The exhibit space will be in the greater Baltimore Maryland area. 3. Images must be submitted on CD, in JPEG or PDF format, at 300 dpi resolution or greater. Each submitting artist may submit up to 3 images. CDs should include artist resume, and contact info, as well as basic info on submitted pieces. Mail CDs to Curator, Great Thinker Arts, 100 Malbrook Rd., Baltimore, MD 21229. Submission fee in cash or check. Checks should be made out to : Ed J. Kaitz. 4. There must be a CLEAR connection between the visual art images presented and the thought or life of one of the "great authors of the Western world". 5. Queries will be accepted at email address: ekaitz2000@verizon.net only until April 15th, 2010. Please put "Great Thinker Art" in the subject line.
